Level Five Privacy Statement ::.
INTRODUCTION
Keeping our clients' information in strict confidence
is a cornerstone of Level Five's business. The range of products
and services we offer our clients continues to expand, and the technology
we use continues to change. However, no matter how our business
changes, we will always protect your privacy and any personal information
you disclose to us.
Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents
Act (PIPEDA), formerly referred to as Bill C-6, is essentially
about balance. On the one hand, it respects
an individual's right to privacy, while
on the other, it recognizes the need for
organizations to collect, use, and disclose
personal information. This law, as its
name suggests, encompasses two primary
objectives: (a) to establish rules that
govern the collection, use and disclosure
of personal information by private sector
organizations; and (b) to acknowledge
the validity and legality of electronic
documents.
More information about this legislation can be found at the official
Web site of the Privacy Commissioner
of Canada, at web address http://www.privcom.gc.ca.
We at Level Five have incorporated into our corporate privacy policy
the 10 personal information privacy principles
stated in the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Model Code and
subsequently reflected in PIPEDA.
PRIVACY PRACTICES
Specifically, Level Five has implemented various practices to give
effect to these principles, including:
- Appointing
a Privacy officer;
- Establishing procedures
to protect personal information;
- Establishing procedures
to receive and respond to client concerns
and inquiries;
- Training
staff to understand and follow Level
Five's policies and procedures; and
- Undertaking
an annual review of the effectiveness
of the policies and procedures to ensure
compliance with the Model Code and consideration
of any revisions deemed appropriate.
Furthermore, at Level Five, protecting your privacy means:
- Your
information is not sold;
- We
keep your information and the business
you do with us in strict confidence;
- You
have control over how we obtain, use,
and give out information about you;
- You
have access to the information we have
about you; and
- We
respect your privacy and confidentiality
when we market our products and services,
although we welcome written and verbal
testimonials from satisfied clients.
